If you enabled or turned on the ‘One WiFi Name’ (SSID) feature, then we are terribly sorry to say that you cannot change the WiFi settings from your Netgear range extender web interface. You must log in to your Netgear WiFi router to change the network settings and to perform the Netgear extender setup process in a hassle-free way.

For brief information on how to log in to your Netgear router, follow the steps below.

To log in to your Netgear WiFi router and access its settings with ease:

  • Turn on a computer or laptop.

  • Connect it with your Netgear router’s WiFi network.

  • Launch any popular web browser like Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera Mini, or Apple Safari.

  • Enter routerlogin.net routerlogin.com not into the search bar but into the browser’s address bar field.

  • You can also use the Netgear router’s default IP address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) to access the login page.

  • Press Enter.

Note: Your web browser may warn you that your connection is not secure. Thoroughly check that the web address you have used has been entered correctly.

  • Now, in the Netgear router login window, enter your admin details (username and password) carefully.

  • Click on OK or Log In and the Basic Home screen will appear.

Note: If you forgot your username and password, reset your Netgear wireless router. To do so, grab any thin object – insert it into the reset hole – hold it for a couple of seconds and release it after that.

Your router reset successfully. After the reset process, you can personalize your login details and access the Netgear router login page again.

Note: If you didn’t turn on or enable the ‘One WiFi Name’ (SSID) feature, then you can change your Netgear extender’s WiFi settings from the mywifiext netgear login.

To change your Netgear range extender’s WiFi settings, follow the steps below:

  • Launch a web browser – from a device (computer or laptop) that should be connected to your Netgear extender’s WiFi network.

Log in to your Netgear new extender setup page:

  • If you didn’t enable the SSID (One WiFi Name) feature, enter mywifiext in the browser’s URL or address bar field. To prevent mywifiext not working issues, be certain that you are not typing the web address into the search bar.

In case, you have enabled the One WiFi Name feature, then please enter one of the following URLs:

  • Windows-based computer: mywifiext net.

  • Mac computers and iOS devices: mywifiext local

  • Android devices: Enter Netgear extender default IP address (192.168.1.3).

Netgear extender setup and login page will display.

  • Enter your admin details (email address and password).

  • Click on the Log In button.

  • Select the ‘Settings’ option and after that, click on ‘Wireless’ on the Status page.

  • Enter a unique network name in the SSID field on the wireless settings page. This process will change your existing SSID.

  • If you want to change the WiFi password (network key), enter a new, strong, and unique password in the Password or passphrase field and click on ‘Save’.

Congrats! Your settings are saved.

Important Tip: Make sure to perform the Netgear firmware update process on the Netgear range extender as well as on your main router timely. If the firmware on your router and the range extender is outdated, there are chances that your devices might perform slow. So, to make your devices work steady, just update the firmware.
